COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF TAX APPRAISERS
2009 ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
Executive Board President Raelene Churyk called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Raelene began the meeting by announcing the attendance for this year's conference included 329 registered attendees, with 46 counties represented and 25 county assessors in attendance.
Raelene then introduced the current Board of Directors and recognized each of their assessors. Special thanks were given to Michelle Lucero, who assisted Treasurer Ronda Lobato with the conference registrations. Raelene continued with special thanks given to the Colorado Assessors Association for their continued support of CATA.
A moment of silence was observed for long-time CATA associate member and supporter Dave Hawker who passed away this past year. The board then followed with a Hawker tradition and tossed out Tyler Technologies hats with Dave's friend and associate Amy Woodward.
The vendors were recognized for their attendance: Tyler Technologies, Manatron, Visual Lease Services, Colorado Custom Ware or CCI, Farragut Industries, Pictometry and ValueWest. Special thanks were given to CCI for providing the lanyards, Tyler Technologies for sponsoring the hot breakfast on Wednesday, and ValueWest for sponsoring a keg of beer for the Tuesday evening dance.
Raelene then recognized all the instructors and thanked them for their efforts. Special thanks were extended to the DPT instructors and their assistant Denise Castro for their work in providing 16 different classes.
The meeting continued with the final item of business, election of officers to the Executive Board. As there was only one person nominated for most of the available board positions, with no nominations received for the Secretary or for one board member, all officers were elected by acclimation of the entire membership. The 2010 Executive Board is as follows:
President – Chris Bellegante, Boulder County
1st Vice President – Sara Thorpe – Jefferson County
2nd Vice President – Jeremy Maldonado – Adams County
Secretary – No nominations – position not filled
Treasurer – Mike Peterson – Summit County
Board Member – Raelene Churyk, Weld County
Board Member – Jason Witty – Larimer County
Board Member – No nominations – position not filled
Drawings for multiple door prizes were held throughout the evening.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
Note: After the meeting, Wendy Schultz from Pitkin County volunteered to fill the Board Member position, leaving only the Secretary position on the board unfilled.
