2024 CATA Conference Summary

The 2024 CATA Conference was an excellent time for education, networking, and decompressing. The successful conference was attended by 235 participants over 4 days. These participants completed over 4,184 hours of continuing and/or qualifying education hours.  Beaver Run Resort proved to be an excellent venue for classes and camaraderie. The state was again well represented with attendees from 40 different counties and included 16 Assessors attending with their staff.  Click here for a List of the Attending Counties.

The CATA Board of Directors worked diligently and were able to provide a wide array of classes.  Thank you to DPT for providing 12 classes and we appreciate Harry Fuller and Steve Kane of EastWest Econometrics for instructing 2 sessions of the USPAP 7-hour Update class and one half-day class.

Many thanks go out to Team Consulting, who provided 5 excellent classes including the Valuation of Breweries and Distilleries and a 2-day Residential Quality, Condition and Effective Age class.  JoAnn Apostol hosted a 1 full day, and a half day class tailored to ad valorem for attendees.  Richard Norejko returned to present two classes for us and Doug Potts of the Appraisal Institute provided a 4-day General Appraisal Income Approach class for Qualifying Education.

2024 was our 4th year presenting the Residential Appraiser Forum, once again facilitated by Becky Fischer.  There were 60 attendees in the ½ day CE class, and it was well received.  Unfortunately, we were unable to find a facilitator for the Commercial Forum for 2024.  We are seeking new facilitators for our Residential and Commercial Forums for the 2025 Conference.  Please contact a current board member if you are interested in contributing to either one of these classes.

Our conference was not all just classes. We also had some great celebrations with the help of Harry Fuller who sponsored our Monday Night Social Hour at Copper Top II and contributed to “Big Mike’s” hot breakfast Wednesday morning.  John Zimmerman from Value West sponsored the Tuesday Night Reception Bar prior to the Banquet.  Beaver Run Resort provides our attendees with great hospitality, and we appreciate their generous gifts of 2-two nights stays at Beaver Run.
