APR 230: This workshop will give students information on the history of golf course development, descriptions of golf course properties, and valuation of these properties. Considerable time will be spent describing golf courses and discussing how the different features impact value. Use of the cost approach, the sales comparison approach, and the income approach in valuing golf courses will be gone over in detail. Actual golf course sales will be reviewed and analyzed. Actual income and expense statements will also be reviewed and analyzed. Time will also be spent discussing how to avoid double taxation of personal property and how to deal with the intangible value that may be associated with a golf course.
