ADM 950: The Ownership, Legal Descriptions, and Mapping Workshop gives attendees basic real estate information regarding types of deeds, elements of a deed, trusts, decedent’s estates, and the methods of describing, reading, and locating real property. The class also explores basic plotting of metes and bounds legal descriptions and discusses the key elements and procedures of the parcel numbering identification system, as established under statute by the Division of Property Taxation.
Disclaimer: Enrollment in Division courses is restricted to county assessors and their staff. If you are not an assessor or an employee of an assessor’s office but you work directly with a county assessor’s office (for example, as a commissioner, hearing officer, county attorney, or vendor), please contact the Division of Property Taxation at dola_dpteducation@state.co.us to petition the Property Tax Administrator (PTA) for permission to attend class. You may also find helpful information in the Video Library on the Division’s website.
